I Trust You

I cannot even begin to explain how last week was for my family. Our emotions were all over the place.  One thing I can say about last week was that my God was with us the entire time and He showed us just how mighty He is.

Wednesday afternoon hubby had a follow-up appointment from his ear surgery. He came out into the waiting room looking solemn. He tells me his surgery is being documented as a failure and he is being referred to the main Mayo hospital in Rochester, MN. I felt as if the wind had been knocked out of me. We were definitely not expecting to hear this. My emotions begin to take over. My heart aches for my hubby. On top of that, the last time I was at the Mayo hospital I was in high school and that was the last time I saw my grandpa “normal” before the cancer really took over his body.

It took the rest of the evening for us to process the information. Hubby and I begin to talk about the whole missing work and how financially we cannot do it. However, this surgery is way more important than anything because if it is not done then the tumor can return. My hubby is more important than money.

Our trust is in God.

Thursday morning we find out that hubby’s hours at work will be cut by 20 hours per week.

Deep breathe.

Okay Lord I know you got this.

Lord I trust you.

Friday morning while at a friend’s house, hubby calls to tell me that he has been laid off and he could go back to work next week or in a couple of months. Tears well in my eyes. ‘Lord I do not understand what is going on but I know Your plans are not to harm us.’

Lord I trust you.

Friday night I kept waking up to, “He provides for the sparrows, He will provide for us.” All night I was waking up to this. Saturday morning I am on my knees praying and worshiping Him. I trust Him.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

My God is greater.

I continue my Saturday morning. I keep telling Him I trust Him. I know You will provide because You always have. The phone rings and it is hubby.

“They just came to me and told me I will report to work on Monday. I am not getting laid off!”

“Praise God!”

My God is greater. Man told hubby he was laid off; God said, “I don’t think so.”

Last night hubby arrives home from work to inform me that he will continue working his hours and the hours will not be reduced.

My God is greater.

Even though our emotions took over when we received the news from everything, we continued to put our trust in Him. We knew that He would not leave us. If He can provide for the birds then He can provide for us.

My trust is in Him.
