Pride

Lacing up the boots not knowing what the day brings you head to work.  You pass your fellow workers wondering if they are going to make it today and you say a silent prayer.  You wonder if God is with you today, you say a silent prayer.  You hear the sirens and you pray "God be with me today."

You head to your temporary home for the year and think about your family.  You start to wonder if your baby girl is walking yet and what her first words are.  You pray that God is watching over them today.  You fall asleep to the sounds of mortars.

You wake up and pray that "God will be with you today."

I miss wearing the uniform.

I miss lacing up my boots.

I miss the smell of my uniform.

I miss serving my country.

I miss the Army.

I am proud to be a Veteran.
