Last
year around this time I was introduced to a new way of eating. Eating clean. I
had never heard of eating clean and did not really understand what it was.
After speaking with a couple of friends and doing some of my own research, I
found out what it truly was about. Eating clean is not another fad diet. Eating
clean is not a quick fix to lose weight. Eating clean is a lifestyle change and
it is eating healthy foods. When I say
healthy foods I mean eating brown rice, vegetables and lean protein. Eating
every two and half to three hours. Basically? It is cutting out processed food
from my diet.
Last
year I began eating clean but I was not fully aware that I was doing it wrong.
I was not keeping track of when I ate last and I was overeating at each meal
time. I was not paying attention to my portions. I felt that since it was “clean”
I was good to eat how much I wanted. Within a few months I fell. I had the
mentality that it was not working for me and just gave up. Story of my life! I
turned back to drinking soda, eating processed food, and stopped working out.
My weight went even higher. I was miserable. I was overweight and needed to do
something about it.
As
of 17 April I began clean eating again. This time around I am doing things
differently. I make a daily meal plan, watch my portions, keep track of when I
eat, work out, and pray. Today marks three weeks of clean eating. I have seen a
drastic change in my mid-section, my clothes are getting baggier, I do not
crave processed food as I once did, and I feel healthier.
I
took day one pictures and each week I compare the pictures. I have allowed
three people to see these pictures and hopefully soon I will have the guts to
allow show everyone. I am so glad I took before pictures because the pictures
really help me to visually see the changes of my body.
I
thank Him each day because I know it is Him who keeps me on track and takes my
cravings away.
All the glory goes to Him….
It is so hard to portion control. I have been trying to shed my extra 20 lbs for about two months now.
