The Faith of a Child

On Saturday we were at a friend's house with other families and each family was creating a prayer chain for their own family and cards to give to people for encouragement.  My son and I were working on the chain while my daughter was making cards.  Sitting across the table from us was a little seven year old girl who was creating her own chain with her mother.  As I was helping my son with a word to write, the mother across from me asked how to spell my husband's name properly.  After telling her, she goes on to tell me that her daughter prays for my husband all the time.

I was completely touched by this little child's love and support for my husband.  This beautiful little child does not really know my husband all to well, except seeing him in church and knowing him as my children's daddy.  She knew that he was hurting and needed prayer and that is what she does.  She prays for my husband.  How precious.

The faith of a child.

Each evening my seven year old son leads our family in prayer prior to going to bed and each evening he ends his prayer with asking God to heal his daddy.  When he prays to God he asks God to heal every part of his daddy, and he lists the areas where his daddy needs healing.  Besides praying for his daddy he also includes the soldiers who are fighting overseas.

The faith of a child.

I am so thankful for these little children.  Many times us adults can get so caught up in the everyday and become caught up in the world.  We we need to take a moment and look at our children.  God works through them to help us.  Take a moment and listen to what they are saying.  You may be surprised at what God is trying to tell you, and you may be surprised at the faith of a child.
