Being military my family and I have many opportunities to travel and to see the world. Now that our children are older we are able to travel more and take longer car rides. While we are here in Alaska we have a checklist of places we would like to visit such as Seward, Anchorage, Kenai Peninsula, Nome, Mt McKinley, Arctic Circle, and Chena Hot Springs. The first four places will have to be at a later date probably when hubby arrives home from deployment but the last three places are planned before he leaves.
On Friday, we were able to visit the Arctic Circle. Another family and my family traveled up the Dalton Highway (this highway is mainly made up of dirt roads and if anyone watches Ice Road Truckers you many know what I am speaking of) and enjoyed some beautiful scenery but no wildlife. We stopped along the Yukon River and had a picnic lunch, then up to the Circle, and then on the way back we stopped at Finger Mountain. I was grateful that we had that opportunity. How many people can say they have been to the Arctic Circle? The best part besides being with family and good friends; we received a certificate stating that we had been there. Here are a couple of pictures of our trip:

That is so cool! We'll have to plan a trip up there some time.
