I am so proud of my
family. Not once did we stray from our menu last week. I had no complaints from
anyone about what was on the menu. Normally, the kids will say, “mom, what’s
for lunch or dinner?” Then they usually answer themselves before I can answer, “whatever
you want?” Most of the time the answer
was correct. I know God opened my eyes during this time to show me where I was
lacking. I needed to get back onto menu planning! I always wonder why I stray
from menu planning.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this:'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:30-31

Menu Plan for May 5th-May 10th
The past month and a
half has been absolutely crazy. During this time hubby has had yet another
surgery. This past surgery was to correct the last surgery that was labeled as
a fail. We pray this is his last. This being his first surgery as a civilian we
have had some realization. First, when his surgeries were done in the military
we did not need to worry about loss of pay. Second, we did not need to think
about co-pays and such. Now as a civilian reality hits. We knew we were blessed
in the military. We knew that and were thankful for the medical coverage. This
last surgery the doctors are keeping him out of work for two weeks. A whole pay period.

Menu Plan for 29 July-4 August
Well, I would love to
say that we did amazing on our menus last week, but then I would be lying. I
think maybe we followed the menu for one day? Maybe two at the most. We ate all
of our meals at home except on Friday, which was planned, but we just did not
follow the menu. We pretty much ate whatever we wanted and munched on leftovers
of what I did cook.
22 July 2013
Menu Plan for 22 July-28 July
We did amazing at
following the menu last week. We only strayed from one meal! This week I am
hoping for the same. I would say that we do not stray at all but we already did
for breakfast J
I had pancakes for breakfast this morning but we decided to get doughnuts for
the blessings since we were bringing my daughter to camp. One last treat before
she left. Maybe I will just change the breakfast for today and then we will be
on track with following the menu? Yes, I think I will do that J
15 July 2013
Menu Plan for 15 July-21 July
I must admit making
these menus were a little more challenging because I had to make them for three
weeks. I feel like we are eating the same things over and over. I guess it is
time to look for some new recipes. I have us eating out twice these three
weeks, which I was not happy with but because of our schedule it was easier to
eat out. HOWEVER, we will be frugal, such as one night we will be eating at a restaurant
when the kids can eat free. This coming week is a pretty laid back week with
baseball, school for the kids and I, and church. I love weeks like this!
08 July 2013
Menu Plan for 8 July-14 July
Life
gets back to reality this week. My classes are back in session, hubby is
out-processing from the Army, and the blessings are back to their
extracurricular activities, which means I made an easy menu this week. We are
pretty busy this week so I wanted a simple menu.
01 July 2013
Menu Plan for 1 July-7 July
Last week we did pretty well with sticking with the menu. We did stray here and there but overall did very well. I started planning my menu's by pay periods instead of weekly, which caused me to visit the grocery store weekly. Now that I plan paycheck to paycheck I am able to see exactly what we will be having each day and can buy all the items ahead of time. This allows a lot less trips to the grocery store, which can result in me impulse buying. I do not understand why it took me so long to do this. I am liking it because less food is being wasted and money is being saved.
24 June 2013
Menu Plan for 24 June-28 June
Hubby had surgery on
Thursday and is doing well. Little man has now returned home from camp and this
mama is not a nervous wreck. We followed the menu pretty well last week. There
were a few days where we strayed. The day little man left, hubby and I decided
to take the kids out to lunch. After hubby’s surgeries we always go to a local taco
restaurant drive-thru and since we had a gift card we decided to keep up the
tradition. This upcoming week we have little going on. Just the typical
baseball practice, gymnastics, church, and oh yes a 5K on Saturday. Our goal this
week is to keep to the menu.
17 June 2013
Menu Plan for 17 June-23 June
I
have gone long enough without a menu and our wallets are seeing the effects.
Life is a bit chaotic lately and I need organization. We are getting back on
track with our Dave saving and spending, which means menu making, coupon
clipping, penny-pinching, no eating out way of life. Normally I make a weekly
menu and shop weekly. However, I am changing it up a bit. I have made a menu
for two weeks and have already done the grocery shopping for the two weeks. I
should only have to get milk during these two weeks. My goal for the next two
weeks is not to stray from the menus.
15 April 2013
Menu Plan for 15 April-19 April
Last week we strayed from the menu a couple of times; this week it is my goal not to stray at all. We have a pretty busy week so I NEED to stay on top of my to-do list and have good time management skills. I am trying to get a schedule where I can get my schooling and exercise time in without having to choose between the two because both are important. The next couple of weeks we will be trying to get into a routine that works for us, which is why our menus will be pretty simple and easy meals.
Mon~ chocolate chip pancakes
leftover soup
cheesy chicken with rice and green bean casserole
Tues~ french toast
homemade chicken nuggets
macaroni and cheese
Wed~ eggs and toast
grilled turkey and cheese
baked ziti
Thurs~ cereal
sandwiches

leftovers

What will you be eating this week?
25 March 2013
Menu for March 25- March 31
Oh my a menu! I have not written out a menu for at least a month and a half. I am so loss without menus. Not to mention the extra money we spend when we do not have our menus in place. This week we have two couples joining us for dinner on Thursday, and this weekend the hubby and I are tackling the storage area in the basement. Saturday and Sunday for dinner I have left the meal choice up to each person because I know on Saturday I will not be in the mood to cook dinner (you should see our storage area!). Sunday is Easter so we will be enjoying the day with one another.
Monday~ waffles
sandwiches
chicken fettuccine alfredo
Tuesday~ bagels
apple and peanut butter wraps
grilled turkey and cheese sandwiches with tater tots
Wednesday~ monkey bread
homemade chicken nuggets and fruit
enchiladas
Thursday~ cereal
smoothies
baked ziti, garlic bread, corn, and salad

What is on your menu this week?
04 February 2013
Menu for Feb. 4- Feb 10 2013
Another week of menus! After looking over our menu, I have decided that each Sunday I will have a crock-pot meal. We really enjoy walking in from church and having lunch done. I have a couple of meals for the crock-pot lined up for the next couple of weeks, thanks to my neighbors on the Facebook page.
28 January 2013
Menu Plan for 28 Jan-3 Feb 2013
This week a friend and I are beginning to head to the gym for some workout time and some “mommy” time. We are going two days a week because of our schedules, but are planning to make it at least three times a week. For our menu I wanted to make sure that the meals are easy because we will be at the gym during our dinnertime. I will prepare dinner before I go, so the hubby does not have to worry about making dinner when he gets home from work. Yes, such a good wife ;)
21 January 2013
Menu Plan for 21 January-27January
Last week we did, overall, pretty well with the menu. We may not have stuck to the menu to a "T," but we did not eat out, except hubby and I did after his surgery. Other than that we did pretty good. This week mama is heading out of two for a night so I had to plan something easy for the time I was gone. Hubby is not quite stable on his feet so it is up to my dear daughter to cook or prepare the food this weekend.
13 January 2013
Menu Plan for Jan 14-Jan 20
Last week we did really well following our menu plan. We did not eat out and pretty much ate everything on the menu. On Saturday we ate a later lunch so come dinnertime we were not hungry. I decided to make our Saturday dinner for Sunday lunch.
This week will be the same. No eating out, unless I need to stop for hubby after his surgery. Otherwise every meal will be ate at home. Our menu again this week will be somewhat simple. Hubby will be recovering from surgery on both his knees. I wanted to have a simple menu because I do not know exactly what this week will entail.
Monday~ bagels
sandwich & snacks (packed lunch for kids whom will be with a friend & I at hospital)
chicken tetrazzini
Tuesday~ snickerdoodle cake (normally make every other week as a treat, but this is for hubby)
leftover chicken tetrazzini
baked ziti with rolls
Wednesday~ eggs and toast
leftover baked ziti
crock-pot macaroni and cheese (have not made in crock-pot before)
Thursday (homeschool co-op)~ cereal
sandwiches and apples
pizza
Friday~ waffles
leftover macaroni and cheese
cheesy crustless quiche' (new recipe; from a neighbor on the TFN Facebook page)
Saturday~ french toast
sandwiches
your choice
Sunday~ pancakes
snacks
pizza bagels or your choice
What will you have in your home this week?
06 January 2013
Menu Plan for 7 January-13 January
Start of a new week and a new routine. I am trying to keep our routine as close to what we are use to but I am now in school, so I am not sure exactly how our schedule will change. The two blessings return to school as well. Along with school starting, the hubby and I begin Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University this evening. A lot of new things are starting here in our household, but I continue to lean on Him for guidance.
I have tried to keep the menu as simple as I can this week. I do not want to overwhelm myself with all the changes. I know that seems silly, but I do not want to worry about making such a large meal at lunch or dinner until I get everything under control.
Monday~ waffles
sandwiches and oranges
creamy chicken noodle soup (new recipe)
Tuesday~ cinnamon rolls
leftover soup
apple baked pork chops and corn (new recipe)
Wednesday~ eggs and bacon
pizza bagels
french toast
Thursday~ smoothies
apples and peanut butter
turkey dogs, french fries, and peas
Friday~ toast and oranges
double chocolaty chip Frappuccino (new recipe) (kids will love me for this)
homemade pizza
Saturday~ snickerdoodle cake
snacks
chicken fettuccine alfredo
Sunday~ cereal
sandwiches and leftovers
snacks
Here is to a new week!
31 December 2012
Menu Plan 31 Dec-6 Jan
Last week with the hustle and bustle of the holidays I did not make a menu plan. I did make a breakfast meal that I saw on Pinterest and oh my gosh amazing! It has become a favorite in our home! This week is the last week of lazy, take it easy, lounging around time. So my menu will reflect that as well. I am also trying to incorporate more meatless nights into our menus.
Monday~ pancakes
Subway or chicken fettuccine alfredo (depends on our plans tomorrow)
tater tot casserole per my mommy's request
Tuesday~ bagels
noodles and oranges
tacos
Wednesday~ cereal
pizza bagels
grilled cheese and ham, french fries, and mixed vegetables
Thursday~ chocolate chip waffles
smoothies
fried rice
Friday~ cinnamon toast
hot dogs and oranges
pizza
Saturday~ breakfast tater tot casserole
snacks or sandwiches
spaghetti pie
Sunday~ cereal
crock pot ranch pork chops, rice, and corn
leftover spaghetti pie
I have three meatless dinners this week. Well, one may count the ham in our grilled ham and cheese sandwich as meat but I only paid $0.45 for the lunchmeat, so I am not counting it as meat. ;)
17 December 2012
Menu Plan for 17 Dec-20 Dec
This week I just have a short week for menu plans. Last week we did not follow the plan to the "T," but we did well with eating at home. One day we did go out to eat, but I had that on the menu. Otherwise all of our meals were at home. Next week I do not know what my menu will look like because we will have company visiting. I plan on making a menu; I just do not know what it will look like yet.
Monday~ cereal
leftover spaghetti
taco's
Tuesday~ eggs and bacon
smoothies and leftover taco's (if any is left)
tater tot casserole
Wednesday~ pancakes and bacon
pizza bagels (kids request)
grilled turkey and cheese, french fries, and green beans
Thursday~ bagels
sandwiches, granola bar, oranges (co-op)
pizza, oranges and kiwi
What is your menu looking like this week?
10 December 2012
Menu Plan for 10 Dec-16 Dec
Back to menu plans. Last week I started back into my menu plans and we did really well. We stuck to the menu and only swayed from it once, which was on Saturday. We ate at Subway BUT I had good coupon so I can justify with that. This coming weekend we will be busy and away from the home for a few meals so I could not plan about three meals. I am not worry we will be wise :)
Monday~ chocolate chip pancakes with bacon
pizza bagels or leftovers
shake-n-bake chicken, french fries, peas, and oranges
Tuesday~ eggs and toast
sandwiches and yogurt
tacos
Wednesday~ monkey bread
noodles and oranges
french toast
Thursday~ snickerdoodle cake
sandwiches and kiwi
spaghetti pie and crescent rolls
Friday~ bagels
hot dogs, french fries, and yogurt
pizza
Saturday~ cereal
Subway (coupon)
Sunday~ For dinner Taco John's....yuuuummmmy

Menu Monday 9 July-15 July
The menu plan for this week I did differently. Usually I plan my menu plan and then I go shopping. However, this week I did my grocery shopping first and then planned my menus. Many people talk about how menu planning saves money, and that is absolutely true. When you set a plan in place you are less likely to fail. Lately, I have read that when you menu plan that you should try planning your menus around the sales that the stores are offering. So that is what I did. Not everything on the menu was from sales because I already had most of the items in stock. I did however, pick up some items that were on sale to use for future menus. I do have to say, I love having a stockpile!
Monday~ homemade waffles
grilled turkey and cheese sandwiches with strawberries
spaghetti pie, garlic bread, and broccoli with cheese
Tuesday~ cereal
leftover spaghetti pie with grapes
hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill with pasta
Wednesday~ smoothies
sandwiches and yogurt
enchiladas
Thursday~ pancakes
chicken nuggets with yogurt
dinner at friends
Friday~ cereal
sandwiches and pickles
leftover enchiladas
Saturday~ cinnamon rolls
sandwiches
pizza
Sunday~ eggs and bacon
sandwiches
fettuccine alfredo
